02Overview

A first look

At dusk the Nile's surface catches the city lights outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, while the lobby's marble floors retain the day's warmth. Rooms and suites here open onto views of Gezira Island, and breakfast on the terrace lets you hear the river and the Corniche traffic falling away as the city wakes.

We hold your reservation with the hotel and our Cairo reservations team confirms room allocation and meal basis in advance. As a licensed Egyptian tour operator, we can also put you in touch with our Egyptologists for advice on visit timings, private guides, and practical arrangements such as early check-in or babysitting requests.

        Accessibility

        Who can join this

The hotel has step-free access from the main Corniche El Nil entrance to the lobby via a ramp, and public areas are served by elevators. Some historic areas nearby have uneven pavements and narrow sidewalks, so outdoor movement may be bumpy for wheelchair users. We can request a ground-floor or accessible room with widened doorway and roll-in shower or grab rails when available; please request at booking so we can confirm. The pool is accessed by a few shallow steps; there is no guaranteed pool lift. Transfer vehicles we arrange include standard sedans and minibuses, which may not accommodate larger wheelchairs without advance notice. Service staff can assist with luggage at the front desk and during check-in, but independent movement around crowded sites and restaurants may require a companion. If you need a stair climber, hoist, or other specialist equipment, notify us before travel so we can advise on local rental options.

        Before you go

        What to pack & wear

        Children & families

Children of all ages are welcome. Standard policy: infants under 2 stay free in existing bedding, subject to availability of cots; children aged 2 to 12 may incur a reduced extra-bed charge, and guests 13 and older are charged at the adult rate. High chairs and baby cots are available on request, subject to hotel availability; please request these at booking. City sidewalks near the Corniche can be uneven and busy, so strollers are practical inside the hotel and on flat pavements but less convenient in crowded markets or narrow lanes. We can arrange babysitting through the hotel at an extra cost; request details and rates when you book.

Indicative rates only – pricing and rooms fluctuate. Please enquire for live rates on your specific dates.

        Responsible travel

        How we travel here

The hotel operates as a large city property with on-site laundry, kitchens, and guest transport options. We arrange airport transfers using late-model saloon cars and minibuses that meet local emissions standards; where possible we consolidate guest arrivals to reduce vehicle trips. The hotel reports water-saving fixtures in guestrooms and a linen reuse program to reduce laundering frequency. Dining venues source some produce from Greater Cairo suppliers and seasonal Egyptian growers; ask the concierge for menus noting local suppliers. The hotel participates in municipal waste collection; food waste is segregated in kitchen areas for composting where the supplier has implemented that system. We work with the hotel to prioritize local hires for guest-facing roles and to recommend community-managed cultural experiences when guests ask. These measures cut operating impacts but do not eliminate them; guests who want lower-impact travel options can request city-center walking tours and public-transport briefings instead of private car transfers.

KaiSai Romance Resort, Pickalbatros Palace – Hurghada

KaiSai Romance Resort, Pickalbatros Palace is a Hurghada resort we book for couples and seaside stays. We do not run large coach groups here; we allocate rooms and transfers privately so arrivals are calmer and more flexible. We arrange private transfers, tailor-made snorkel excursions on the Red Sea, and in-resort requests such as room location or early dinners. Trade-off: the resort pace favors relaxation, so guests wanting Hurghada’s downtown nightlife will need a short taxi each evening. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and handle all local logistics for your stay.

        Sofitel Old Cataract, AswanAswan

        Sofitel Old Cataract, Aswan

Sofitel Old Cataract sits on the Nile's bank in Aswan with direct views toward Elephantine Island. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and arrange private airport transfers, Nile-facing rooms, and guided visits to Philae and the Aswan High Dam. We recommend at least two nights at Old Cataract; unlike a one-night cruise stop, two nights let you visit Philae at first light and return to the same hotel without rushing. The property is historic and includes steep staircases and narrow corridors in parts of the building, which can be inconvenient for limited mobility and hot at midday on the terraces.

        Sofitel Winter Palace – LuxorLuxor

        Sofitel Winter Palace – Luxor

Sofitel Winter Palace is a historic Nile-side hotel in central Luxor with riverside gardens and a classic Victorian lobby. We recommend it as a downtown base because the location allows early starts to the West Bank before most cruise groups arrive. Unlike river cruises, staying here provides walkable access to Luxor Temple and the city museum for evening visits. As a licensed Egyptian tour operator, we arrange private airport transfers, in-hotel introductions to your Egyptologist, and timed departures to avoid peak crowds. Cons: some older wings have stairs rather than elevators and public areas are busy in high season.
