The vessel and shore excursions include uneven surfaces, cobblestones, stone steps at archaeological sites, and soft sand at riverbanks. Embarkation and disembarkation require stepping up and down gangways, typically 4 to 8 steps; some boats provide portable ramps but not all. Shore visits often involve stairs and narrow passageways, for example inside tombs at the Valley of the Kings and steps at Philae Temple. Wheelchair users should note that full independent wheelchair access cannot be guaranteed; transfers use coaches with steps. We can arrange helper staff and accessible vehicles on request, and our Egyptologists will adapt walking routes where possible. Please tell us about mobility needs at booking so we can plan suitable shore excursions and provide arrival assistance; our staff meet incoming flights and can advise which visits are practicable given your mobility level.

Children aged 0 to 5.99 years travel free; children aged 6 to 11.99 years pay 50% of the adult price; children aged 12 years and above pay the full adult price. Children must share a cabin with their parents, maximum one child per cabin; two or more children require their own cabin. Strollers are practical ashore for flat pavements in modern towns but not on archaeological inclines or soft sand; most vessels can provide cot-style bedding on request, but high chairs are not always available on board, so please request these items at time of booking.

We use air-conditioned coaches for transfers and locally registered motor launches for short river transfers, and the cruise vessels themselves are staffed by Egyptian crew contracted through our partners. Fuel for the vessels is diesel, supplied locally through the cruise operator. We work with local suppliers for guides, catering staff, and excursion providers to ensure income remains in the communities visited, and we prioritize companies that employ local Egyptologists and boat crews. Waste handling follows the vessel operator's procedures, which commonly include segregating recyclables on board and delivering non-recyclable waste to shore facilities. We recommend guests bring refillable water bottles; most vessels provide potable water stations to reduce single-use plastic. Where possible we book visits that share revenue with temple-side vendors and community museums to support local craftspeople.
