This cruise involves regular embarkation and disembarkation via a ship gangway, which normally includes a short flight of steps and a narrow ramp area. Onboard public areas and most cabins are reached by stairs between decks; elevators are uncommon on Nile cruisers and may not be available. Shore excursions include walking on uneven ancient stone, stepped tomb entrances, sandy riverbank approaches and cobblestone streets, with some sites offering long staircases and limited shade. Wheelchair users should note that full step-free access is rarely available on standard Nile vessels, and transfers between ship and shore may require assistance. We source fresh produce, bread and other perishables from local markets and bakers in Luxor and Aswan, which supports local suppliers and keeps food miles low. Crew and excursion teams are locally employed; gratuities paid on board and to Egyptologists remain with Egyptian staff. Waste handling varies by vessel; we ask cruise partners to segregate recyclables where ship facilities allow, and to avoid incineration of mixed waste.
