Accessibility
Who can join this
This cruise requires a moderate level of mobility. Embarkation and disembarkation use a gangplank and may involve steps; luggage is carried by crew but passengers must manage one or two steps. Cabins on most Nile cruisers are compact, with doorway widths that can restrict wheelchair access and limited turning space for large mobility scooters. Onshore excursions include uneven ancient stone, steep temple steps, and sandy surfaces at riverbanks and ruins. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and can request wheelchair-accessible transfers and ground assistance in advance, but full accessibility cannot be guaranteed on every vessel or at every archaeological site. If you use a wheelchair, oxygen, or other medical equipment, tell us when booking so we can advise which vessels and excursions are most suitable.

Children & families
Children 0–5.99 years travel free; children 6–11.99 years pay 50% of the adult fare; children 12 years and older pay the full adult price. Children must share a cabin with their parents, one child per cabin maximum. Two or more children require their own cabin. Strollers are practical for port areas but may be difficult on gangplanks and inside compact cabins; cabins do not typically accommodate travel cots. Please tell us the ages of travelling children at booking so we can advise on suitable cabin options and safety arrangements.

How we travel here
Most Nile cruisers use diesel propulsion and air-conditioned guest coaches for shore excursions; fuel and coach emissions are therefore the primary transport impacts. We arrange cruises with local suppliers who employ Egyptologists and crew based in Luxor and Aswan, which keeps income on the Nile corridor. Waste-management practices vary between vessels; we ask guests to minimise single-use plastics by using a reusable water bottle and to sort recyclables when crew collection is offered. Shore excursions use licensed local guides and entrance fees go to the Ministry-managed sites, supporting conservation budgets. Where possible we recommend late-afternoon visits to reduce peak-time congestion at popular temples. LA Sarah Nile Cruise sails between Aswan and Luxor, visiting Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor West Bank, and Luxor East Bank. Departures are Wednesdays from Aswan and Saturdays from Luxor. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and our Egyptologists lead all guided excursions, limited to eight guests. Full-board meals, private air-conditioned transfers, and the site entrance fees listed in the itinerary are included. The boat has panoramic windows, a sun deck, a small pool, and a lounge for evening music and folkloric shows. Unlike many mass-market cruises, our guided visits keep groups small and provide paced time at Edfu and Kom Ombo.
